Advertising Design Assignment

The Assignment
Design Two Advertisements

Using the material from the identity package of classmate, create two full page (8.5x11) advertisements that could be used in magazine or newspaper. One should be in 3-color, the other with full color.

-The three-color can have black as a color (if you use black)
but the white of the background is not a color. )
-The full-color composition must use more than three colors.
-The ads need to be different compositions but may relate thematically and visually.
- The ads must have some design done on the computer and have some hand drawn and scanned
(or painted) elements, although the finish products will be printouts or color copies.
-You may NOT use appropriated imagery from the internet.

1. Conduct a 10 question interview with your client (classmate) to get a sense about their 'company'.
The interview should consist of only 5 questions regarding the company and only 5 questions regarding the potential ad content. Write these questions down before you ask them.

2. Design at least 2 preliminary sketches for each ad from visual resources of your choosing.

3.Think about how your ads need to function. How to catch people’s eyes and maintain their interest. You need take into consideration your intended audience and how to give them enough information to be informed and engaged.

4. Remember, language and imagery are equally important and they need to work together in order for the ads to be successful.
